Kinja'd!!!

I'm working on creating a lot of promotional/advertising content for my dad's business. The only thing he's ever used over the past 35 years are trucker hats and key chains. Literally nothing else.

The hats are now so old that the logo itself can be used again with a retro/nostalgic flavor, so I'm wanting to keep it and use it. If anyone knows what font that it, that would help me a ton.

I've always really liked the trucker hats. They're from the early 90s so they're not even trying to be ironic. I really dig the logo and wanted to keep it so I took the photo above and threw it into Preview on my Mac.

From there I Smart-Lassoed it's ass out of the hat and with some crafty eraser work I have the images posted below.

If anyone has any clue what font that is on the hat, I'd really like to find that too.

My first thought was using this clip-art photo here:

Kinja'd!!!

But, I really think the Vintage Mustang gives the shop a more homey welcoming vibe. The content itself (business cards, print ads, billboards, etc.) will be more modern, but I think a retro logo is neater.

Looks pretty cool! The Mustang makes it seem like a friendly, family owned place. I like it.

Who doesn't like (or recognize) a classic Mustang? Good choice.

That's what I'm thinking. I see a lot of similar restoration/performance shops with logos like the clip art ones trying to be very modern and 'cool.' I think this should set us apart.

Luckily, for the website, this is our competition: http://www.sterling-restorations.com/

Their websites a mess.

Mustang is the best, but cut it out of the hat, iron it and scan it flat - the one you did has a curve in it that's there from the hat shape...

( and erase the dots - the sharper it is the better the embroidered t-shirts and stuff will come out....)

Otherwise right on - and use a newer font just for update. and maybe the area code

and maybe your web address...

Yeah more people are going to be able to relate to a vintage mustang rather than a generic clip art

I'm torn on the font. I fear a thinner font wouldn't match well with the mustang photo.

Here's what I've got now for a business card. It's vertical.

I know this might sound like nit-picking ( sorry) but I do this sort of thing for a living...

the " Lauer Service" type seems wonky - like it wants to be set on an arc but was done freehand and it's a little off...

and add some space between the lines ( and set the @ at a few points smaller...)

No criticism her - trying to be helpful.

Nah, I was hoping some more professional people would chime in.

I made the logo on InDesign, using the Type of a Path tool, so it should be well rounded. I think making the @ smaller will help too. I wanted tight lines, but its clearly a smidge too tight there.

Do you do graphic design, advertising, something or the sort?
